Our MissionThe goal of the RENEW NEW ORLEANS FOUNDATION is to raise funds needed to enhance the quality of life for citizens of the Greater New Orleans area adversely affected by Hurricane Katrina, especially children and the disadvantaged. Proceeds from the Foundation’s fundraising activities are donated to charities serving New Orleans and the surrounding metropolitan area that support the renewal of New Orleans as a safe, vibrant and thriving city. Contributions will be made to charities that enhance life through education, health, human services, arts, culture and humanities. Our Board of DirectorsMichael J. Scardino. Mike was born in New Orleans, raised in Kenner, and currently resides in Metairie, LA. He is a 1969 graduate of East Jefferson High School and is a co-founder of the Kenner Central Lions’ Club, an organization dedicated to fighting blindness. Mike works for Jefferson Parish and has been married to his wife, Sandra, for over 30 years. They have three children. Jeffrey Barach, Jr. Jeff, a native New Orleanian, is a 1987 graduate of Newman High School. Jeff received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and his MBA from the University of Texas. Jeff works as a Senior Account Executive for Cardinal Health, a Fortune 500 company that is one of the largest distributors of medical supplies and equipment in the US. He lives in Abita Springs, LA with his wife, Virginia, and their two children. Michael B. Alker. Mike is a native New Orleanian and a 1987 graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School. Mike received his B.S. from the University of New Orleans and his J.D. from Loyola University. Mike is currently a partner in the law firm McCranie, Sistrunk, Anzelmo, Hardy, Maxwell & McDaniel, specializing in product liability and insurance defense. He lives in Covington, LA and has one son, Stephann. Edwin Lee, Jr. Ed is one of those rare individuals who is a jack of all trades and a master of many. He’s an excellent guitar player, licensed attorney (J.D from University of Houston.), information technology guru, husband, father and friend. Ed is the technical brains behind the Foundation and is a Manager with Deloitte Consulting. He and his wife, Katie, live in Houston, TX with their two children. Michael W. Latino, Jr. Mike was born in New Orleans and reared in Metairie, LA. He graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School in 1987 and received his B.A. from LSU in 1992. He's a member of the Krewe of Okeanos and worked for New Orleans-based necktie manufacturer, Wemco Industries, for five years out of college. Currently, Mike is the Executive Vice President of Sales for Dallas-based IT consulting firm, Stonebridge. He and his wife, Melissa, have two children.
